Story's set in present day, United States. There are two settings here, Washington D.C and South Africa.

Omar plays an Egyptian guy, a US citizen, married to Reese who is being detained mysteriously on his way back home from Cape Town, South Africa by US officers.

Reese waits for him to at the airport together with their son, and another one on the way. Reese is i think 8/9 months pregnant. Well, imagine this: Your husband made a call from a foreign country, saying he'll be back on time and everything sounds good, but he never showed up at the terminal. What'd you do?

You'd go on a frantic search for him. Go the police, or anyone with authority you can get to. So Reese went for help from her ex-classmate, and there was a hint that the classmate[below] was in love with her once, but got rejected, most probably. He works for a Senator, thus he has ways around.

In another scene, we see Omar fully tied up, and head covered, being led to a room where an officer started to interrogate him. asking him his alliances with a terrorist who had confessed to the bombing in South Africa, recently. Because apparently Omar had a phone call from him. They have been tracking his calls a while ago. But we see Omar struggling to explain to him he is innocent.

We jump from time to time to the Romeo and Juliet of the movie, in South Africa where a local teen couple was in love but the girl's father opposed them. This couple is a pretty important point in the story as they were involved in the bombing.

Then, of course we have Jake playing an analyst who was forced to take over a colleague's job after he was killed in the bombing. Jake was asked to observe the interrogation of Omar when he was deported to South Africa and being detained there.

Rendition, is a US policy formed after the 9/11 attack where they'll detain anyone suspicious or suspected to be related to any terrorism and fly them out of US to prisons in various spots. They will not tell their family members or explain anything to anyone. Mostly, people just disappear.

There is a documentary attached in the DVD i bought. And after hearing the stories of two victims, i really feel for them.

There is again a twist in this movie, which really makes me go..."so, it's actually like that?"

Overall: 8.5/10

This movie is pretty lengthy, a bit draggy maybe some parts, but i really enjoyed it. You'll need subs unless you understand Arabic...but anyway, i really like some of the actors here, especially Omar Metwally! He is superb in here as the victim. His eyes! His innocent eyes tell all. He's amazing...seriously, i think he's even much better than Jake Gyllenhaal in here. He surpassed him anytime. Maybe because Jake doesnt really have a HUGE ROLE here, he's just there you know, and he doesnt really stand out.

So yeah...anyway happy watching!
