Based on a novel, this story tells of Holly Kennedy who just lost her beloved husband, Gerry Kennedy. After few weeks of hibernating at home being depressed, a birthday cake suddenly came to her doorstep, by Gerry.

And so, letters came routinely, guiding her to do various things, like singing karaoke which Holly hated very much, vacation in Ireland with her girl friends, fishing, etc...

And in between we see some flashbacks where Gerry appears in the movie. Like the first time they met in Ireland, and other stuffs.

And of course, we see how Holly copes with trying to get herself busy with whatever Gerry tells her to do in the letters. And also trying to meet new guys along the way.
Oh, Lisa Kudrow is funny btw. She has that Friends aura all over her, seriously.

Here they are getting stuck in the middle of nowhere at this Irish Lake.

Overall: 8/10

I like the overall package, it's not too draggy and it just moves on rather smoothly. And i love the scenes in Ireland. Ireland is one of those places in my list that i wanted to visit in the future. oh yeah...xD i love western countryside! You know....stretches of green fields and horses or sheep grazing ...amazing.

And i think this is a pretty fresh change of role where we see Hilary playing a more carefree character and witty. Whereas before, she had been playing rather serious roles, headstrong woman...but here, she's vulnerable and more on the feminine side.
