someone noble put it up on youtube, like two days ago haha xD

so yeah xD [spoilers ahead] but ah who cares ^^

Movie starts with Kishida working for a movie production company, always getting yelled at for clumsiness/ slowness/ etc...but he never gets upset. He's got this innocent face xD

anyway, later on in the office, he saw a news reporting about a plane crash that's flying to Los Angeles. And one Japanese citizen had been confirmed to be one of the victims of the fatal crash. And that person apparently is his friend, Aoi.

He then went to the funeral with several other people, including one of the heads. He sent Aoi's family to the airport to fly over to LA to take their daughter's remains *ash*.

On the way back home, Kishida reflected back to how he and Aoi met.

They were schooling in the same university i think, and Kishida had a crush on one of Aoi's friend, working at the record shop. So Kishida had initially approached Aoi for help, but Aoi's friend refused to go out with him. Kishida even offered Aoi another job at Tower Records just so he can take over Aoi's part time job so he can meet the girl.

Aoi joked about giving her money for doing so much for him, asking for 10,000 yen. Kishida really gave her the money but he made a little ring out of the paper money and slipped it onto Aoi's finger. *this scene is sweet*

But of course, they were just friends.

And Aoi has this hobby of writing screenplay and directing, so she made a script called "The End of The World" which she gave Kishida the leading role. And after the lead female refused to do this kissing scene with him, Aoi finally took over the role. For the sake of her first movie. xD
And as time goes by, they became closer and closer. Spending lots of time together but Kishida had this weak point of having crushes on cute girls. And he always asked Aoi to help him like writing a letter to the girl.
Oh, and i find this scene nice. It's simple and shot from far away, it's not close shot like this. But i like it. [pic above] Kishida was punched when he made a move to this girl he liked, only after Aoi prompting him to step forward, by pushing him from behind. Later on in another case, she did that again because Kishida was like shy and never had the courage to do anything. I find little things like these are really sweet and touching.

Oh, the ring thingy. He did it twice for her. xD
then we are introduced to Aoi's little sister who's blind. Kishida somehow likes to tag along with Aoi, despite the fact that initially Aoi had mistaken him for a stalker, haha xD

So, then let's fast forward----> Aoi had found a job at this production company but felt like something's missing. So her department head advised her to move to LA and try out there. And so after thinking, she decided to move. Seeing Kishida having no proper jobs, she suggested him to take over her place there. Which later on, Kishida found out she's going to LA.

The scene at the rooftop where Aoi confessed that there is someone she liked, but refused to tell who, is kinda sad, the fact that she actually gave out clues to Kishida. She said that she'd stay and be by that person's side, IF that person asked her to.

Kishida then said " Stay in Japan" to her, in a casual way. I mean, sigh...that has sounded vague you know.

So, yeah...she went finally. And that was the last of her.

Present time-----> Kishida sent her stuffs to the house, where Kana (Aoi's little sis) gave him Aoi's slightly burnt phone. Well, it beats me how a phone can survive the crash though, and still works>>> But i guess, sometimes things happen for a reason. And Kishida saw that the picture of the weird looking rainbow on the phone. She used it as the wallpaper, you see. Kishida had sent the pic to her right before the crash.

And Kana pointed out that Kishida's voice might have been the last voice she heard, coz Kishida sent her a voice mail. And then Kana showed him the letter Aoi had written to the girl Kishida had a crush on. The scene where he reads out the letter is somehow touching, and heart breaking when he turned the last page and saw what was written there. Something like:

" I love your indecisiveness...your lack of nerve...your utter helplessness...your slow grasp of things...but mostly i love your smile"

And finally, this was one of the scenes where they saw the weird rainbow. It's creative how they used the reflection, Sugoii!!!

And i must say the theme song "Rainbow Song" is amazing here. The song can be heard in Nodame Cantabile series, i think twice...and i don't know why they insert that song in the series when it's the theme for this movie. Ah well, that was how i discovered the song anyway.

The movie's not depressingly sad, BUT more towards a sweet and touching approach. I mean, things like these happen in real life. And i like the little little things they insert in the movie like the paper money ring, also the push Aoi always gave Kishida whenever Kishida was doubtful, and of course, the rainbow. It's lovely though.
